Stephanie Boateng is a multidisciplinary artist based in Wilmington, DE whose work centers Black joy, emotional wellness, and identity. Through painting, sculptural elements, interactive experiences, and community-based projects, she creates spaces where people feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

Best known for her vibrant portraits of Black women smiling, Stephanie blends mixed media materials such as texture, hair, glitter, clay to challenge how Black women are represented in contemporary art. Her practice is rooted in storytelling, healing, and the power of softness as resistance.

Beyond the canvas, Stephanie extends her work into workshops, events, and accessible art products including prints, coloring books, and interactive experiences designed to invite participation rather than passive viewing. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to move fluidly between fine art, wellness, and community engagement. She is actively expanding her practice through exhibitions, collaborations, and public programming.
