Ohemaa is a celebration of Black womanhood, wealth, and the truth that we deserve prosperity. Her name comes from the Akan language of Ghana, where Ohemaa means queen, honoring women who lead with strength, wisdom, and confidence.
Her sculptural hairstyle is created from traditional hair rollers wrapped in dollar bills, transforming a familiar beauty ritual into a bold statement about value. By weaving money into her crown, Ohemaa displays wealth unapologetically and declares that Black women deserve to be seen in their fullness, powerful, luxurious, and worthy of prosperity. Adorned with feathers, florals, and a delicate tiara, she reminds us that wealth is not something to apologize for, but something we are entitled to claim.
